Recover your wallet

Restore an existing Arkena wallet on a new browser using your 24-word recovery phrase.

Use this flow when you're moving to a new machine, reinstalling Chrome, or reconnecting after clearing browser data. Recovery is non-destructive: it re-derives the same wallet from your phrase. Your assets sit on the Canton ledger, not in the browser, so they're untouched the whole time.

  1. Open the welcome screen

After installing the extension, open it and choose Recover wallet instead of Create new wallet.

  2. Enter your 24 words

Type the recovery phrase in order. Order matters; capitalisation does not. The wallet does inline validation — if a word isn't part of the BIP-39 list, it'll reject it.

  3. Set a new password for this device

This password is local to this browser only. It can be different from the password you used on your previous device — that one stayed behind, since it never left the browser.

  4. Confirm your party ID

Once recovery completes, the wallet shows your party ID on the home screen. It must match the party ID you remember from the original wallet. If it doesn't, the phrase is wrong somewhere — back out and re-enter.
